In this lecture, local historian librarian James Janis will be discussing the Great Hurricane of 1938 (also known as the "Long Island Express") which took place on September 21, 1938 and caused a wealth of damage across New England. Accompanied by photos of the storm's damage, you'll also learn about how the Long Island Express impacted Hicksville, Long Island, and the country as a whole.
