Poetry Open Mic Night In-Person

Calling all poets, spoken word artists, lyricists, and songwriters!  Welcome to Hicksville Library's unplugged Open Mic Night, hosted by Nassau County Poet Laureate Paula Curci. Bring your poems, prose, spoken word, lyrics, and songs up to the mic...all encouraging voices are welcome. Our August feature is Katherine Galbraith Chan,  the First Nassau County Teen Poet Laureate and Scholarship Winner!  Our open mic will follow, co-hosted by Noelle Cunneely, a teen member of our Hicksville Poetry Open Mic community,  alongside our Hicksville team: Paula Curci, Kirk Larsen, and Robert Windorff.

Register to receive an event reminder. Sign up starts on arrival. You can read three poems or two songs, no epics. Timing at the mic will depend on attendance. No abusive, hurtful comments or hate speech, profanity, obscenity, and/or vulgar speech will be permitted.
